479. Inch threads
An old rotator of Comet brought back from my storage shed, for planned new V/U antennas.
Two fixing nuts are missing.

At first glance, it looks M6 thread, but does not fit. This type of thing is indeed frustrating. To realize the wrong thread at the top of antenna tower is a tragedy or rather a comedy.
I store M-thread bolts and nuts of several sizes, but inch threads.
So, I tried to find out the right one at a nearby hardware store.
There, they present a panel with actual bolts and nuts of inch threads arranged according to sizes. The photo shows it.

As the word, YAHATA, is printed at its right corner, this is probably prepared by the company in Nagoya, called YAHATA NEJI CORP.
By bringing either a bolt or a nut, we can try the samples and easily find out the right size. This type of arrangement is really helpful.
The thread I thought M6 turned out to be Whitworth W 1/4, 1/4 inch thread. Shop workers usually call this size "ni-bu" (two-bu).
At the workshops here, 1/8 inch is a unit called "iti-bu" (one-bu). As 1/4 inch is equal to 2/8 inch, it is called "ni-bu" (two-bu). Likewise, a step larger one, W 5/16 thread is 2.5/8 inch and "ni-bu go-rin" (two-bu five-rin).
478. Edison light bulb

Tried to find out incandescent lamps, but very difficult to get them. It looks they are all gone to museums.
The lighting equipment with dimmer function used for dacades does not work with the present LED lamps. This is the bulb I finally found out.
The package says that the maker is Marine Light Bulb K.K. in Kiyose, Tokyo.
The right is for a bulb of 200 W I bought long before. Matsushita make.

A nearby temple today.

476. Kashiwa airfield and "Shusui"
"No tail and rocket propulsion" means "Shusui".
A model plane at the exhibition room at T-site in Kashiwa, where the captioned exibition is held through the 20th.

At the Kashiwa airfield, wooden gliders called "Akigusa" were used for the flight training of the "Shusui". The photo is for the "Akigusa".
475. Gama no ho-wata
Solid-looking cattail ears during the summer now turned into soft-looking cottons, this year too. At a nearby fallow field.

As mentioned earlier, I finally understood the meaning of gama no ho-wata (cattail cotton) in the nursery rhyme; ♬Daikoku-sama waー♬ . Well, it took almost 70 years to get the real meaning!!
474. A duck
Found a duck under the cloudy sky and took a shot. At Uba-ga-ike of a nearby History Museum.
It looks a resident duck called karu-gamo, and not the one migrated from the north.

473. Tsukuba Navy Flying Corps
Tomobe has a memorial museum of the captioned.
The then headquarters building remains there as it was. The shot is the interior of the commander's room. It is said many movies have been filmed here.

472. Narashino meteors
Went to Chiba Museum to see the meteors found at Narashino in July.

They were found at 2 locations. The sizes are both about 5-6 cm. It is reported that the Meteoritical Society formally registered these metors as "Narashino".
The trajectory analysis by SonotaCO Netwok, which was up in this column too, proved to be very accurate.
471. Kaki
The kaki (persimmon) at my place has ripen, and every day mejiros come to eat them. Within short, boisterous hiyo will also come.
We borrowed just one piece from the mejiros, and the shot is this. The dented area is the mejiros' pecks.

Again, a new store opened along my usual walkig route.
Even under the novel virus turmoil, some dare to decide the opening of a new shop.
